Client Accountant

We are currently seeking a Client Accountant to join us in Jersey.

About the role

The Client Accountant must be driven and focused on providing exceptional service to clients through maintaining bookkeeping records and preparing financial statements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing entries into the Business Central system to maintain up-to-date, accurate accounting records for a variety of clients.
  • Setting up accounting records for clients and close ledgers for closed clients.
  • Preparing management accounts for clients, which may include; cash flow forecasts, income and expenditure forecasts, asset statements, budgets and other ad-hoc reports.
  • Preparing accurate financial statements for trust and company clients for audit or submission.

About you

  • You will have previous experience working within a trust environment or relevant financial services business.
  • Experience of bookkeeping for trusts (importance of income and capital segregation) and companies, financial statement preparation and review, and consolidation of financial statements.
  • A thorough understanding of double entry bookkeeping.
  • Reasonable knowledge of Jersey trust and company law and practice.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage time effectively.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
